Day 4: Hugging the Atlantic coast road, journey past the "bikini beaches" of Clifton and Camps Bay, beautifully located at the base of the towering Twelve Apostles Mountains. Travel past bustling fishing harbors and white sand beaches en route to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Here, you may climb the steps to Cape Point, then venture to Boulders Beach to observe its colony of endangered African penguin. Continue to Franschhoek, your home for the next two evenings.

Day 5: Spend today exploring the Cape Winelands. In Stellenbosch, explore the town with a specialized guide. Travel to the historic town of Paarl, passing the Victor Verster Prison where former President Nelson Mandela was held until 1990. Surrounded by fruit and wine farms, a drive up a mountain road is rewarded with a visit to the unique Taal Monument, built to immortalize the Afrikaans language.

Day 6: Fly to Johannesburg, where you will spend the night at the exclusive Saxon. Visit Soweto Township, including the Hector Peterson Museum, site of the 1976 uprising, and Vilikasi Street, the only street in the world that has been home to two Nobel prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
